K-5 Kids Art Camp

Instructor: Dajin Yoon

Dajin Yoon is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator working in performance, drawing, and installation. She holds a BA in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts Education at UCLA.


Led by LA-based visual artist and educator Dajin Yoon, students will be introduced to a variety of visual art mediums and learn about contemporary artists and new vocabularies while absorbing hands-on skills and techniques throughout this engaging 4-day art camp. Students will bind a chapbook at the end of the summer camp to encapsulate their experience and learning throughout the summer.

Portfolio Development

Instructor: Jenny Eom / Jisoo Chung

Jenny Eom is a curator, educator, and director of Drawwing Cabinet, GOBI, Baik Art LA and Process / Practice. She holds a MFA in Art from CalArts and a BFA in Photography & Imaging from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with minors in Studio Art and Media, Culture & Communications. Jisoo Chung is an artist and educator working primarily through video, installation and performance. She received her MFA from UCLA in Art (New Genres) and BFA from Seoul National University in the Department of Painting.


This class is intended for students who are serious and committed to pursuing a degree in the arts. In the first week, students will set production goals for summer, solidify a concept that connects their existing works to new ideas, and plan for production. In the second week, students will be guided to produce intentional works that reflect their goals and concept.

Summer Intensive: Sculpture & Installation

Instructor: Li Zeng

Li Zeng is a multidisciplinary artist working with sculptures, textiles and installations. Zeng holds a BFA from School of Visual Arts in New York and an MFA from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena.


Learn to express what matters to you through the world of three-dimensional media. In this Summer Intensive session, we will go over different approaches to sculpture-making and installation art and look at a range of artists’ practices. Utilizing clay, paper, wire, and readymade objects, students will gain hands-on knowledge in sculpture modeling and assemblage through various demonstrations.

Drawing & Painting

Instructor: Michelle Sauer

Michelle Sauer is an artist based in Los Angeles, working primarily in painting. She received her MFA from CalArts in 2020. Prior to CalArts, she taught at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, NY.


Heat, alchemically, is necessary for transformation and movement. The fever dream works to stir, dizzy, purge, remember, excite, warp, symbolize, and merge. This Summer Intensive session will examine surrealist visual techniques used in art and film. Drawing from these techniques, students will create a sequence of paintings, incorporating dreams and memories while experimenting with material application and color.

Summer Intensive: Photography

Instructor: Rory Hamovit

Rory Hamovit is an artist and educator, working primarily with the medium of photography. He received an MFA in Photography from Yale University and a BA in Photography from Bard College.


This course will explore photographic image making ranging from analog to digital processes with a focus on self-portraiture and its expansive definitions. What is a self-portrait and does the artist even need to be physically present in the image to create a self-portrait? Over the 2 week intensive, students will learn how to frame images, shoot / develop film, and edit / print images digitally while developing photographic works that explore the idea of the self-portraiture through numerous techniques and technologies from the medium’s past and contemporary space.

Figure Drawing with Live Models

Instructor: Nelli Astvatsatrian

Nelli Astvatsatrian is an Armenian-American artist and educator working with figurative illustration, printmaking, and textile. She received a BA in Fine Art and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley.


Figure Drawing skills are crucial to building a successful portfolio. This 6-session workshop will advance your figure drawing techniques with live model sessions. We will work towards portfolio-ready figure drawing pieces that showcase your skills and technique in your unique visual style. This workshop is highly recommended for students with experience in figure drawing and/or preparing portfolios for college applications.

Exhibition-Making Class

Over the course of 8 weeks, students will produce an exhibition of their own from beginning to end. Through this process, students will develop a deeper understanding of the art of exhibition making, gain the practical skills needed to put on a successful exhibition and get a glimpse of what it’s like to pursue a career in the creative field. Students will learn about the various elements that make up an exhibition and execute the roles of a curator, writer, editor, marketer, graphic designer, spatial designer, art handler, documentation photographer, event producer, and of course, artist.
